In 2011, a partner and I acquired an online juicer website (purelyjuicers.com). Along with some revenue, the site provided a crash course in:
- Outsourcing – We hired a Georgian (the country not the state) web developer through oDesk. Not only did I manage a third party resource, but one half-way around the country. He did excellent work and anyone looking for work in Joomla should check out his web design company.
- SEO – During the transition to Joomla, we got a crash course in SEO as Google repeatedly adjusted its favorite inbound links.
- B2C Retail – Most of my previous work came from B2B clients. This was the first major project where I had to deal with consumer user considerations.
The site is active and we continue to collect sales.
